SERVING AURORA FOR A SAFE TOMORROW

“My mission is to help make Aurora the safest, most affordable place to live, work, and raise a family.”

Having lived in Aurora since I was a child, Aurora is near and dear to my heart. I grew up here. I was a teenager here. I called Aurora home as a college age student and young adult. I am raising my family here. I’ve lived here for over thirty years, and I want my family to feel safe, confident, and excited to call Aurora home for at least another thirty years.

As much as I love Aurora, I am very concerned for my city. I am running for Aurora City Council because I know how important this election is for the future of our city. If we are going to enjoy a high quality of life and be proud to call Aurora home for generations to come, focus on public safety, economic health, and affordability:
Safety – One of the primary roles of government is to ensure public safety and address crime.
The most pressing issue in Aurora right now is addressing our high crime rate. We must stop coddling the criminals while watching the victims suffer. We should all be able to feel safe in our neighborhoods and community.
Economic Health – Aurora has incredible potential. We are poised to be the major economic driver in the state. We must expand wisely and purposefully. This will take leaders who work hard to ensure the path forward for strong economic growth and the creation of jobs for the people of Aurora.
Affordability – As we improve public safety and economic health, we can also make things more affordable for the people of Aurora. We can help Aurora be the most affordable city around by:
  1. Improving housing options (by increasing both volume and value).
  2. Supporting a strong small businesses sector (through cutting red-tape and allowing Aurora to be an incubator for small-business growth).
  3. Attracting and supporting industry leaders (which provides good jobs to our local economy and strong confidence and security to our larger economy).
  4. I oppose the raising of taxes and the imposing of new fees on the people and businesses of Aurora. (Like you, I was shocked when I received my property tax statement! As the price of housing has increased, so has our property taxes… and our cost of living. We don’t need the government to add more taxes and/or fees - which also increases our cost of living. On council, I will fight for the taxpayer and ensure the city, like families, lives within its means.)

As a father, husband, pastor, coach, servant, budget-officer, and friend to many in my community, I am excited for the incredible potential of Aurora. The future is bright for Aurora. I believe that as we serve our community today, we can become set for our future - a future that ensures that the people of Aurora can feel safe, work freely, and raise their families with a high quality of life.

I would be honored to earn your support - and your vote - as I run for Aurora City Council.
