SERVING AURORA FOR A SAFE TOMORROW
“My mission is to help make Aurora the safest, most affordable place to live, work, and raise a family.”
Having lived in Aurora since I was a child, Aurora is near and dear to my heart. I grew up here and am now raising my family here. I’ve lived here for over thirty years, and I want my family to feel safe, confident, and excited to call Aurora home for at least another thirty years.
As much as I love Aurora, I am very concerned for my city. I am running for Aurora City Council because I know how important this election is for the future of our city. If we are going to enjoy a high quality of life and be proud to call Aurora home for generations to come, we need leaders who will focus on public safety, economic health, and affordability:
1. Crime / Safety – One of the primary roles of government is to ensure public safety and address crime. Our crime levels are at record levels. This is most pressing issue in Aurora right now. We need to stop coddling the criminals while watching the victims suffer. We should all be able to feel safe in our neighborhoods and community. I will be a champion for:
(1) Enforcing our laws.
(2) Empowering the victim.
(3) Expanding punishments for crime.
2. Economic Health – Aurora has incredible potential. We are poised to be the major economic driver in the state. We must expand wisely and purposefully. I will be that leader who will work hard to ensure the path forward for strong economic growth and the creation of jobs for the people of Aurora. We can accomplish this by:
(1) Supporting a strong small business sector,
(2) Attracting and supporting industry leaders.
3. Affordability – As we improve public safety and economic health, affordability must also be a focus. I believe we can make Aurora the most affordable city around by:
(1) Improving housing options, (both volume and value)
(2) I oppose the raising of taxes and the imposing of new fees on the people and businesses of Aurora.
By (1) increasing both the volume and value of our housing supply, (2) cutting red-tape and allowing Aurora to be an incubator for small-business growth, (3) having strong job opportunities and security, and (4) limiting how much of our hard-earned money that government takes away from us (which increases our cost of living), we can finally make things more affordable for us, the citizens of Aurora.
As a father, husband, pastor, coach, servant, budget-officer, and friend to many in our community, I am excited for the incredible potential of Aurora. The future is bright for Aurora! I believe that by serving our community today, we can set the right course for our future - a future that ensures that the people of Aurora can feel safe, work freely, and raise their families with a high quality of life.
I would be honored to earn your support - and your vote - as I run for Aurora City Council.
